StockX Fee Calculator

StockX charges a transaction fee based on your seller level — 9% at Level 1, dropping to 7% at Level 5, with a $5 minimum — plus 3% payment processing and a $5 seller shipping fee on standard US sales. On a $50 Level 1 sale the transaction fee hits the $5 minimum, so total fees are $11.50 and your payout is $38.50 before your item cost.

Unlike the other calculators here, there is no separate shipping-cost field: StockX's $5 seller shipping fee is part of the fee total above, so your payout already has shipping taken out.

Worked Example: a $50 StockX Sale (Level 1)

    A $50 sale for a Level 1 seller with a $10 item cost:

    LineAmount
    Sale price$50.00
    Transaction fee (9% = $4.50, $5 minimum applies)−$5.00
    Payment processing (3%)−$1.50
    Seller shipping fee−$5.00
    Total fees−$11.50
    Your payout$38.50
    Item cost−$10.00
    Net profit 57.0% margin$28.50

The two flat $5 charges are 20% of this sale on their own. On a $200 sale at Level 1, fees are $18 + $6 + $5 = $29.00 (14.5%) — StockX gets cheaper as prices rise.

    How to Calculate StockX Fees

    Total StockX fees = max(seller level % × sale price, $5) + 3% × sale price + $5 shipping

Your payout is the sale price minus fees; net profit subtracts what the item cost you. The structure punishes small sales twice: the $5 minimum transaction fee means any sale under about $56 at Level 1 pays more than 9%, and the flat $5 shipping fee is 10% of a $50 sale before anything else. Above $150–$200, the percentages dominate and StockX becomes competitive.

How to keep more of every StockX sale

Sell StockX items at StockX prices. The platform makes sense for higher-value sneakers, watches and collectibles. A $40 item keeps just $26.50 at Level 1 after the minimum and shipping fees — list it somewhere with percentage-only fees instead.

Climb levels deliberately. Moving from Level 1 (9%) to Level 3 (8%) saves $1 per $100 sold, forever. If you are near a level threshold, consolidating your sales on StockX for a stretch can pay for itself.

Compare against eBay for sneakers. eBay's Athletic Shoes category charges 8% at $150+ with no per-order fee and no $5 minimum — for a $150 shoe, eBay fees are $12.00 versus StockX Level 1's $22.00. StockX's buyer trust and pricing may still win the sale, but run both numbers in the comparator.

Price from the payout backwards. Set your Ask by starting from the profit you need and adding fees with the reverse price calculator, instead of copying the lowest Ask and discovering the fees later.

    StockX Fee Calculator FAQs

How much does StockX take from a $50 sale?

At Level 1, $11.50: the transaction fee hits its $5 minimum (9% of $50 is only $4.50), plus $1.50 processing (3%) and the $5 seller shipping fee. Your payout is $38.50 before your item cost — an effective fee rate of 23%.

    What are StockX seller levels?

Sellers progress from Level 1 to Level 5 as their lifetime sales grow, and the transaction fee drops at each step: 9%, 8.5%, 8%, 7.5% and 7%. The 3% processing fee and $5 shipping fee stay the same at every level.

Why is there a $5 minimum transaction fee?

StockX charges at least $5 per sale no matter how small the percentage works out to. It matters on anything under roughly $56 at Level 1 (under $71 at Level 5) — below that, your real transaction rate is higher than your level's headline rate.

Does StockX charge sellers for shipping?

Yes — a $5 seller shipping fee on standard US sales, deducted from your payout. Because it is inside the fee total here, this calculator has no separate shipping-cost field.

StockX vs eBay for sneakers: which is cheaper?

On fees alone, eBay usually wins at $150+: Athletic Shoes pay 8% with no per-order fee, while StockX Level 1 pays 9% + 3% + $5 shipping. At Level 5 (7% + 3% + $5) the gap narrows. Prices realized and sell-through differ too — compare your actual keep in the all-platform comparator.
