Final value fees apply to the total amount the buyer pays — item price, shipping charged and any sales tax — not just the item price. That is why charging shipping does not dodge the fee: it is inside the fee base. Use the eBay fee calculator to run your exact category and price, or the eBay Store calculator to see whether a subscription pays for itself.

Frequently Asked Questions

13.6% of the total sale (item + shipping + tax) for most categories, plus a $0.30 or $0.40 per-order fee. Some categories differ — see the table above.

Does eBay charge fees on shipping?

Yes. The final value fee applies to the total amount the buyer pays, including shipping charged and sales tax.

Is an eBay Store worth it for fees?

How do Promoted Listings fees work?

You choose an ad rate percentage; eBay charges that percentage of the total sale on top of the final value fee, only when the promoted listing sells.
